DOB: 09/08/1971

Case Number: 23-00677-CFFA

Flagler County Defendant Convicted of Capital Sexual Battery

BUNNELL โ€“ After a three-day trial, a Flagler County jury found defendant Michael Jennelle guilty as charged of two counts of Sexual Battery on person less than 12 years of age, three counts of Lewd/Lascivious Molestation on person less than 12 years of age and two counts of Lewd/Lascivious Exhibition on person less than 16 years of age.

โ€œThe defendant sexually assaulted our victim for several years and ultimately she had to testify to all the disgusting details of the abuse in front of a jury of strangers,โ€ State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. โ€œThat took amazing courage. It is fitting and just that the defendant spend the rest of his life behind bars.โ€

The case was investigated by the Flagler County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Assistant State Attorney Melissa Clark successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Dawn Nichols presided over the case and will pronounce sentence at a later date.
