State of Florida v. Timmothy Isaiah Hall

Press Release | July 9, 2026

DOB: 08/05/1969

Case Number: 2025 104991 CFDB

Volusia County Defendant Convicted in Attempted Kidnapping of a Child

DAYTONA BEACH โ€“ After a two-day trial, a Volusia County jury found defendant Timmothy Hall guilty as charged of Attempted Kidnapping of a Minor less than 13 years of age and Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition on a Minor less than 16 years of age. Immediately following the verdict, Hall was sentenced to 30 years in prison and will be serving day for day as a prison releasee reoffender. He will also be designated a sexual predator.

On July 11, 2025, a 7-year-old girl was playing with her brother inside a Daytona Beach store while her family shopped.

Hall approached her while holding and exposing his genitals.

As the defendant continued walking toward the girl, he motioned with his other hand for her to come to him and reached out to grab her, causing her to scream. The defendant then ran out of the store but was caught on surveillance video getting into his vehicle.

In 2012, Hall was convicted in Hillsborough County of Lewd and Lascivious Exhibition on a Minor less than 16 years of age.

โ€œI thank God that most folks never experience the raw and dreadful reality of criminal activity,โ€ State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. โ€œIt is inconceivable that someone would target a 7-year-old girl in such a way, especially in a public place. Your prosecutors are hypervigilant in their efforts to protect you and your family. The defendant received the maximum penalty, but 30 years doesnโ€™t feel like enough.โ€

The Daytona Beach Police Department investigated the case. Assistant State Attorneys Kevin Betancourt and Paiton Mizelle successfully tried the case for the State of Florida. The Honorable Kathryn Weston heard the case and imposed sentence.
