State of Florida v. Qwinntavus Kwame Jordan

Press Release | July 16, 2025

DOB: 12/15/1990

Case Number: 23-00443-CFFA

Flagler County Defendant Convicted of Armed Robbery

After a two-day trial, a Flagler County jury found defendant Qwinntavus Jordan guilty as charged of Robbery with a Firearm. Immediately following the verdict, he was sentenced to life in prison as a Prison Releasee Reoffender.

In the early morning hours of April 28, 2023, Jordan entered a Palm Coast convenience store and demanded that the clerk give him all the money in the cash register. The defendant pointed to his pants pocket, implying he had a gun. “I don’t want to hurt you,” Jordan could be heard saying in the store’s surveillance video.

The clerk complied out of fear and gave Jordan money, some items from the store and even turned on the gas for him. He then took off in his vehicle.

The clerk called 911 and the defendant’s vehicle was quickly tracked using license plate readers. He fled from law enforcement north on Interstate 95 at speeds of more than 130 mph through St. Johns, Duval and Nassau Counties, before stop sticks were deployed in Georgia.

After crashing his vehicle, Jordan entered a Kingsland convenience store, demanded the clerk’s keys at gunpoint and drove away in his vehicle.

The defendant then returned to the store and attempted to go back inside. When he realized the door was locked, he crashed the vehicle into the front and climbed into the store with his gun drawn. Once Jordan found the victims hiding in a storage closet, the clerk shot him multiple times.

“I can’t imagine a more dangerous individual,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the defendant. “We are all much better off now that he will die in the state prison system.”

The case was investigated by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and Kingsland Police Department with assistance from several other law enforcement agencies. Assistant State Attorney Melissa Clark successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Dawn Nichols presided over the case and pronounced sentence.

Jordan still faces several charges in Georgia.
