Flagler County Defendant Convicted of Capital Sexual Battery
BUNNELL – After a three-day trial, a Flagler County jury found defendant Michael Jennelle guilty as charged of two counts of Sexual Battery on person less than 12 years of age, three counts of Lewd/Lascivious Molestation on person less than 12 years of age and two counts of Lewd/Lascivious Exhibition on person less than 16 years of age.
“The defendant sexually assaulted our victim for several years and ultimately she had to testify to all the disgusting details of the abuse in front of a jury of strangers,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “That took amazing courage. It is fitting and just that the defendant spend the rest of his life behind bars.”
The case was investigated by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Melissa Clark successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Dawn Nichols presided over the case and will pronounce sentence at a later date.
