State of Florida v. Edarian Devontre-Lewis Price

Press Release | April 17, 2025

DOB: 12/29/2005

Case Number: 2023-0362-CF

Young Guns Defendant Convicted of Second-Degree Murder

PALATKA – After a two-day trial, a Putnam County jury found Young Guns defendant Edarian Price guilty as charged of Second-Degree Murder with a Firearm.

On the evening of April 7, 2023, Price, who was only 17 years old at the time, was invited by his girlfriend to a Palatka home.

When he walked in, a young man inside stood up, ready to fight Price. The defendant immediately pulled out a gun and shot him once in the torso before running away.

Unfortunately, the victim died from his injuries at the scene.

Multiple people inside the home witnessed the murder and identified Price as the suspect.

After a 20-day search, the U.S. Marshals found and arrested the defendant in New Jersey.

“This case is a stark example of Young Gun defendants’ total disdain for the sanctity of life,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “Gun violence and murder have become too commonplace for these offenders.”

The case was investigated by the Palatka Police Department with assistance from State Attorney Investigators and the U.S. Marshals. Assistant State Attorneys Mark Johnson and Alex Gilewicz successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Alicia Washington presided over the case and is set to pronounce sentence on June 10, 2025. Price faces up to life in prison for the crime.
