Flagler County Defendant Convicted of Capital Sexual Battery

BUNNELL – After two-day trial and only 11 minutes of deliberation, a Flagler County jury found defendant Daniel Rodriguez guilty as charged of Sexual Battery on person less than 12 years of age, Lewd/Lascivious Molestation on person less than 12 years of age and three counts of Lewd or Lascivious Battery Sex Act on person 12 years of age or older but less than 16 years age.

“The defendant will spend the remainder of his life in the Florida State Prison System,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “He deserves nothing less!”

The case was investigated by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Melissa Clark successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Dawn Nichols presided over the case and will pronounce sentence at a later date. Rodriguez faces mandatory life in prison for the crimes.
