Two Defendants Convicted in Two Days in St. Johns County

ST. AUGUSTINE โ€“ St. Johns County juries delivered back-to-back guilty-as-charged verdicts this week, convicting two defendants on drug charges.

Defendant Tyler Devoe was convicted of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Sale of Fentanyl, and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device on Tuesday.

In a separate trial on Wednesday, defendant Eric Badie Jr. was convicted of Possession of Methamphetamine.

โ€œThis is another example of your prosecutors keeping you and your families safe,โ€ State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the cases. โ€œDrug traffickers infect our communities with violence and death. We are much better off without them.โ€

The cases were investigated by the St. Johns County Sheriffโ€™s Office. Assistant State Attorneys Leah Owens and Bailie McLaughlin successfully tried the case against Devoe. Assistant State Attorney Rich Lehman successfully tried the case against Badie. The Honorable Christopher Ferebee presided over the cases and will pronounce sentences at a later date.
