Volusia County Defendant Convicted for Possessing Dozens of Child Pornography Files

DELAND – After a full day trial, defendant Christopher Hildebrand was found guilty as charged of 35 counts of Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child.

“The defendant possessed 35 videos of children – mostly between two and four years of age – being raped by adults,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “It is hard to imagine a more disgusting and disturbing crime. Everyone who downloads such videos creates more demand and ultimately more child victims. His sentence should be as harsh and unforgiving as the raw footage of the child pornography he possessed.”

The case was investigated by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Child Exploitation Unit. Assistant State Attorney Nick Kramperth successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Karen Foxman presided over the case and is set to pronounce sentence on June 26, 2025.  Hildebrand faces a minimum of 38 years up to life in prison for the crimes. He will also be designated a sex offender.
