Volusia County Defendant Indicted on First-Degree Murder
DELAND – The Volusia County Grand Jury heard the case of Juan Antonio Huertas Figueroa this week. The defendant is accused of shooting a man multiple times in the parking lot of a DeLand apartment complex on August 15, 2025. The victim died from his injuries at the scene.
The indictment was handed down on Wednesday morning. Huertas Figueroa was charged with First-Degree Murder.
The case was investigated by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Andrew Urbanak is the prosecutor assigned to the case.
